#Repost: Hello my to my fellow Earthlings. Now that Miss Earth 2015 is heading to Austria this December 5th, I'm sure that the 2015 candidates and would be candidates will start preparing for the international and National Pageants. Many will likely browse to do some research on how to succeed in the International Arena. Despite being an ordinary earthling, I will mention a few tips that I believe could help properly a candidate to the top. However, I'm sure the veterans among you have many more things to say so feel free to share your thoughts and insights into the Miss Earth Pageant.
The most crucial step is to be able to penetrate the Top 16. I have always wondered why many beautiful women who are Fan Favorites didn't make it to this Particular Stage of the Competition:
① Beauty alone just don't cut it for Miss Earth. They are looking for an ambassador and a spokesperson. So having the intelligence is vital. And really learn the many issues affecting the environment.
② Be very sincere with your advocacy. A nice video or some Facebook pictures showing some outdoors work just won't cut it. It helps if your National Organization does alot of Environmental Activities that show you in good light. Prepare a really strong eco video for the advocacy segment of the competition Prepare some Miss Earth related photos and glamshots to be used for publicity and to boost your campaign in the pageant.
③ Be nice. If the MEO detects anything of an attitude problem. You can say goodbye to the crown. And don't fake it because the people that make it up are pageant veterans. Once you make it to the top 16, then everyone would be on equal footing. The judges (unlike the fans) will most likely not be Familiar with your work and Accomplishments. So you will be judged mostly on your performance that night. This is where it becomes Miss Universe like. This is where your Beauty, Body, and Wit will come into Play.
④ During the pageant activities, and the delegates is outside the hotel. MEO will check your room. Always turn off the lights when you are not inside the hotel room, and keep your room very clean. Cleanliness, Orderliness and Behavior is vital in Miss Earth.
⑤ Dont try to use foundation in the NO MAKE UP Round. Dont eager to fake it and secretly use it . Once the close door judges notice that you're using foundation, they will wipe out the
foundation in your face. And sorry, goodbye top 16!
⑥ During the Closed door interview, Be very articulate and strong on interview which means knowing this years theme: CLIMATE CHANGE and how it applies to your country.
⑦ Follow the instructions. If MEO says the Pageant activity will start at 6:00am, at least before 5:30 you are already prepared. MEO is very strict with this, if you are always late. Sorry top 16
⑧ Bring always moisturizer, beautiful and healthy skin is vital.
9 Avoid having a very gummy smile of at least minimize that by using a nude shade of lipstick.
10. Aside of this, you must also consider to start learning the proper pasarela and proper projection. Once you penetrate the Top 16 all scores from closed door interview will be back to zero. And the telecast judges will judge you fairly in your performance in the swimsuit competition.
PS: Do not concentrate on the glamour part of Miss Earth as this pageant is advocacy heavy compared to other pageants where being beautiful is the main thrust. Miss Earth has wasted a number of gorgeous ladies in favor of girls with better attitude, better knowledge on the Miss Earth advocacy and better people skills.
